“Another great week at Eden Village”
Bar Harbor, ME, has become an annual trip for us. Eden Village is our home away from home. We cannot imagine staying anywhere else. Relaxing, quiet, comfortable, clean, warm, friendly...these are all perfect descriptions of Eden Village and the owners, Gail and Bob. If you are looking for hot tubs, internet access and room service, this is not the place for you. If you are, however, looking for a cozy cottage with a kitchen, fireplace, private bath and TV that is clean and comfortable with quiet, relaxing surroundings, this is most definitely the place for you. And the location on Mount Dessert Island is perfect for any exertion. We stay in the same cottage every year. We have a view of the pond (and the ducks). There is a screened porch with a flower box, where you can sit and watch the humming birds come right up to you. You have your own picnic table and outdoor grill. If you never wanted to leave the property, you would still have the most relaxing and pleasant vacation. You more than get your money's worth, you get the feeling of home and good friends. See you in September.

“Always a pleasure”
We have stayed in the cottages each October for many years and hope to visit for many more. The owners try very hard to make your stay pleasant. Big plus--not many cottages in Bar Harbor area have working fireplaces---Eden Village still does. Can't beat the location...near 2 lobster pounds, and the main entrance to Acadia National Park.

We stayed for a few days in a cottage at Eden Village. Our hosts were easy to deal with in setting up our reservations and helpful in finding the best cottage to suit our needs. We had our 18 month daughter with us for the stay. The cottage was great to stay in with a baby, and the grounds were great for her to run around and play before or after a day out, and she loved checking out the duck pond. It's a quick drive to the park and down town. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again for a future visit to Bar Harbor!

- Liked — The beautiful grounds to walk around while back at the cottage.
- Disliked — Bathroom was small, no bathtub. Was tough to bathe a small child.

Very nice to stay at Eden Village in the Motel. We were off the busy road, with nature all around. But we were still conveniently located to every where we wanted to go. The room was cozy with nice easy chairs to relax in at the end of the day. It was a perfect place to end our busy days of site seeing.
The location of Eden Village makes it easy to get off the island for shopping but also drive further into Mount Desert Island to visit all the natural and tourist sites.

My husband and I have stayed at Eden Village several times.
We have stayed in Cabin #1 every other time except this
last time. Due to our own last minute change in plans, we
could not get reservations for Labor Day weekend in a cabin,
but the owners were nice enough to help us get into one of
the motel rooms. It was comfortable. Eden Village is not for
those who want 4 star hotel accomodations, but those of us who
want to get away from the hussle and noise of the city, Bar Harbor
is a wonderful place. Eden Village is located between our favorite
Lobster Pound, Trenton Bridge where we get our dinner and
and Acadia National Park, where we visit nearly every day.
We like the idea of being left alone to do our own thing. The
fireplace is a plus. The kitchen is adequate for breakfast.
Yes, the place could use some updates, but nothing that would
prevent us from going back again. We have always enjoyed our
stay at Eden Village and plan to return next fall.

We had a great stay in the honeymoom cottage. The fireplace was one of our favorite parts of our stay! It was nice that the cottages were spaced far enough apart to give you the privacy and the pond and ducks were entertaining. The location was close enough to town and the park and we would recommend this place to others, matter of fact I have already! We hope to return there next year if available!

I read reviews on Trip Advisor to find this place. I'm so glad I did! The rates were very reasonable. The cottages were just wonderful! We loved eating breakfast on our little screened in porch every morning. We hiked the trails in the back and found some deer tracks. We enjoyed sitting on the swing in front of the pond and commiserating with the ducks. The location is nice, too, easy to get to all of the places we wanted to visit on the island. We will totally stay there again.

Loved this
place !
Management
was very
friendly and
in tune with
our needs .
Bar Harbor
has always
been our
"getaway"
place and I
can not
believe we
haven't
stayed at
Eden village
before. This
was my
families
first stay
and I must
say a very
rewarding
one . Quiet
( set back
off the
road) very
clean and
near to
everything
Bar Harbor
has to offer
. Especially
loved the
rear deck
overlooking
the
mountains .
The pond
offered a
nice view
also and
some fun for
the young at
heart to
paddle boat
around in.
My family
and I stayed
in one of
their family
motel units
. Really
enjoyed the
stay . Would
like to keep
this place a
secret( just
for me ) but
that
wouldn't be
fair to the
hard work
these folks
have put
into this
Eden .

We stayed
here for 3
nights in
Sept, and
was
pleasantly
surprised.
The room was
very clean
which to me
that is the
most
important
thing. The
location was
close to
Acadia NP
and the town
of Bar
Harbor. The
decor of the
room could
use a little
updating,
but since we
don't really
spend much
time in the
room other
that to
sleep and
shower, it's
not that big
of a deal.
The guy at
the desk
wasn't
overly
friendly,
but check
in/out was
fast and
painless. We
did have
problems
with the
heat not
working the
first night
which took
about 2
hours before
anyone would
believe us
that is
wasn't
working, but
once he came
out to fix
it, it
worked
great.
Budgetwise,
this it a
great place
to stay.

The place
was nice and
quiet, kept
clean. The
cottage we
stayed was
also in good
shape.
Location was
pretty good,
not too far
from the
park
entrance and
Bar Harbor.
The pond is
beautiful.
But the
owner is not
friendly
and/or nice.
They have
signs posted
all over the
place. Do
not leave
lights on,
tuck the
shower
curtain to
prevent
water
falling
outside,
make sure
the kitchen
inventory is
all there
when you
check in,
park here
only, do not
park here,
don't do
this, don't
do that,
etc, blah,
blah, blah.
I was sick
of so many
signs and
warnings!!.
This was
VACATION!.
Plus his
attitude was
bad,
specially
towards
women. We
saw him
talking very
friendly
with the
'guys". I
recommend
this place
for families
but it you
are a woman
traveling
with your
sister,
friend,
cousin,
(woman),
etc. DONT GO
THERE!!..
There are
many places
around where
you can find
similar
acommodations.
We were kind
of glad to
go home. Not
a friendly
atmosphere
at all!!.
His wife was
friendly but
he should
not be in
the business
of greeting
people.
Maybe she
should work
in the
office all
the time and
he should
just take
care of the
maintenance
around the
place.

This couple
stayed in
our
honeymoon/special
occasion
cottage. Due
to it's
location
(close to
the pond)
special
parking
instructions
are given so
no one
accidentally
drives over
a septic
tank in
route to
their
cottage. Our
entire check
in process
generally
takes about
5 minutes.
We want to
make sure
that people
who have not
stayed in a
rental
cottage
before are
familiar
with the
housekeeping
procedures
that come
with their
rental. For
the safety
and
convenience
of our
guests we
also take
this
opportunity
to explain
other
particulars
about our
grounds. I
have gone
through the
same process
thousands of
times over
the years.
Everyone is
explained
the same
facts and in
the same
manner about
our cottages
and grounds.
I can not
remember any
other person
(man or
women) being
offended by
this
procedure. I
do not
remember
speaking
with these
ladies after
they checked
in. I'm sure
I said hi or
waved to
them in
passing
during the
week they
stayed. It's
a shame but
this women
simply
OVERREACTED
and in doing
so not only
upset
herself but
I'm sure
also upset
her
companion.
Most people
that stay in
this
particular
cottage have
chosen it
because they
want as much
privacy as
possible.
For that
reason we
will not
needlessly
disturb them
but
certainly do
not go out
of our way
to avoid
them. If she
wanted to
have a
friendly
conversation
I would have
been more
than happy
to oblige
her.
The personal
comments
made by this
person are
untrue,
inappropriate
and
insulting.
There are a
few small
signs posted
in a
cottage.
They are
posted as a
convenience
and by no
means are
meant to
annoy a
guest. Most
of these
signs are
manufactured
by a company
called
Project
Planet. This
is an
environmentally
conscience
company that
supplies
these signs
to the
lodging
industry.
(example-To
help us

energy

They are
very
tastefully
designed and
state
certain
facts about
how much
energy can
be saved and
as a result
pollution
eliminated
by
considering
various
conservation
practices.
You will
find these
signs
displayed in
many lodging
facilities
across the
country that
are
concerned
about our
environment.
We've had
them in
place for
about 5
years. This
is the 1st
person that
was offended
by their
presence.
She says
Eden Village
is nice and
quiet,
clean, well
kept and in
a good
location.
Then she
OVERREACTS
again and
lets a
couple of
signs
negatively
affect her
vacation.

Our family vacation stay at Eden
Village was just perfect . The
cottage was clean, reasonably priced
and fully furnished with everything
we needed for housekeeping. The
grounds are spacious (25 acres) with
plenty of room for the kids to walk
and play....they even had a stocked
pond on the property for fishing!
The owners, Bob & Gail, were
friendly and quite helpful. They
took the time to point out area
attractions of interest and even
showed the kids to how to feed the
fish in the pond. Acadia National
Park is conveniently nearby,
beautiful and a trip
highlight....right up there with our
stay at Eden Village. We are already
looking forward to our next visit!
